Polina Bogdanova was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. She graduated with distinction from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory in 2009 and later obtained a Master of Music degree with distinction from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where she studied with Norma Fisher. In 2011, she joined the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium, working in the piano section under the direction of Abdel Rahman El Bacha. As an Artist in Residence, she also studied with Dmitry Bashkirov and later worked with Kirill Gerstein in Stuttgart. Her achievements as a solo pianist include prizes at international competitions in Italy, Andorra and the United Kingdom.
After moving to Belgium, Polina gradually specialised in accompanying, opera and vocal repertoire. She worked as an accompanist and coach in the classes of José van Dam, Gary Hoffman and Augustin Dumay, and prepared singers from the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel for the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition. In 2014, she joined the International Opera Academy in Ghent and completed an internship at La Monnaie in Brussels, where she continued to work in the following seasons.
From 2017 to 2022, Polina was a house pianist at Theater Bremen in Germany. During this period, she worked on productions including Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, The Rake’s Progress, Lulu, Der Rosenkavalier, Falstaff, and The Cunning Little Vixen. She regularly performed with the Bremer Philharmoniker and appeared in Lieder recitals with soloists of the theatre.
Since 2022, Polina has been a house répétiteur at Palau de Les Arts in Valencia, Spain. There she was a principal répétiteur on productions including Wozzeck, Jenůfa, Tristan und Isolde, The Queen of Spades, Rusalka, Dialogues des Carmélites, L’Heure espagnole and Salome and collaborated with conductors James Gaffigan, Gustavo Gimeno, Cornelius Meister, Riccardo Minasi, Michele Spotti and Sir Mark Elder, as well as stage directors Àlex Ollé, Simon McBurney, Robert Carsen, Christof Loy, and the directing duo Moshe Leiser & Patrice Caurier.
